The word “mission” has a special resonance in the history of Notre Dame High School. The school is located in the San Fernando Valley, named for the Mission of San Fernando established by the Spanish Franciscans in the eighteenth century. The architectural design of Notre Dame reflects this mission heritage, most notably in the arches which run along the Riverside Building. It was also a mission that sent Holy Cross tradition to the United States from France to found the University of Notre Dame, and, from there, to California to establish Notre Dame High School.
Our Story
3 Years in Honor Bowl
Notre Dame High School will be in their 3rd Honor Bowl! Last year, Head Coach and his Knights traveled to Northern California to play sister school Saint Francis in Mountain View, CA, a game that has never occurred until The Honor Bowl brought these two power programs together. This year, Notre Dame again will travel on Friday for the Camp Pendleton Experience, an education event that Coach Rooney has opted to be part of in all of their Honor Bowl weekends. The Knights will come in strong with a great roster filled with talent and athleticism and will play Game One on Saturday, August 31 at host school Cathedral Catholic. It is an HONOR to have Notre Dame in the 2019 Honor Bowl and we look forward to seeing what transpires.
